There’s no course (or A.I. prompts) that will instantly give you a profitable business, a fully booked calendar, or a “passive” income stream overnight.
Yet, everywhere you look, someone is selling the idea that the right course will be the missing piece—the thing that finally gets you to where you want to be. And while courses can be incredibly useful, they can’t do the work for you.
Lot’s of small business owners ask us if they should get this course or do that course and again it depends!
Courses Don’t Create Success—Action Does
A course can give you frameworks, strategies, and insights. It can show you what works for others and help you avoid common mistakes. But it’s just information. And information without action is worthless.
The reality is:
- Small business owners who are going to succeed will figure it out—even without the course. They’ll adapt, test, and keep going.
- Those who won’t, will stay stuck—even with the best course in the world. Because no one can build your business for you.
If you’re expecting a course to solve your business struggles, it’s time to shift your mindset. A course is a tool, not a magic wand.

The Illusion of Progress
Many business owners fall into the trap of collecting courses, thinking they’re making progress when they’re really just avoiding the hard work. Watching modules, taking notes, and feeling inspired is easy. Actually applying what you learn—consistently—is what separates those who see results from those who don’t. While we don’t provide courses we have written comprehensive business blueprints (more on that here) for numerous small businesses over the years but if they don’t take action on what is inside they’ve wasted their money. The same applies to courses!
If you’ve taken multiple courses but still feel stuck, ask yourself:
- Have I actually implemented what I learned?
- Have I followed through long enough to see results?
- Am I looking for another course because I’m avoiding taking action?

What Actually Moves the Needle
If you want to build a successful business, the formula is simple (but not easy).
- Clarity – Know what you’re building and who you’re serving.
- Consistency – Show up, create, and market your business regularly.
- Adaptability – Test things, learn from mistakes, and keep improving.
- Resilience – Keep going even when it’s hard or slow.
No course can give you discipline. No coach can force you to take action. No strategy will work if you don’t execute.
Use Courses Wisely
This isn’t to say courses aren’t valuable. The right course, at the right time, can save you months (or years) of trial and error.
But only if you:
- Choose courses that align with your current stage of business.
- Take action on what you learn immediately.
- Stop looking for the next course as a shortcut.
At the end of the day, no one can do the work but if you want no nonsense help reach out! Even if we can’t help we have a vast network to draw upon.
