Why We Don’t Offer “Brand in a Day” (And What to Consider Before You Book One)

There’s a trend floating around in the design world right now called “Brand in a Day.” You’ve probably seen it. It’s pitched as a quick, affordable way to get your business looking polished without the usual back-and-forth or big investment.

Sounds appealing, right? One day, and bam — your logo, colours, and social media graphics are done. You’re ready to take on the world.

We get why this is popular. We really do. But at Rawmarrow, although we could offer this kind of service, we don’t and there are reasons why.

So, what actually is a Brand in a Day?

It’s exactly what it sounds like, a designer blocks out a full day to work solely on your brand. You usually fill out a questionnaire beforehand, maybe jump on a call in the morning, and the end of the day, you’ve got a logo, colours, font pairings, and a few extras like social graphics or a basic brand guide.

No long timelines. No death-by-revision. Just fast, focused work.

And for some people especially startups, side hustlers, or folks who need something right now it’s alluring.

Why we don’t offer it.

We don’t offer this service because I don’t want to (lol). It goes against the reason I started Rawmarrow in the first place. I have no desire to churn out generic logos on a timer. (our process is detailed here). I limit the numbers of clients I have at any one time. I built this business to give solo and small business owners the same level of respect, thought, care, and creative direction that big companies get — just without the corporate waffle, bs and inflated egos. When I take a client on, I’m all in. I get just as fired up about their business as they do, and because of that, clients often end up getting far more value than they paid for and expect. You don’t get that from a one-day quick fix.

1. Surface-level doesn’t cut it.
Building a brand that actually means something takes more than a colour palette and a Canva-friendly logo. (Please make sure if you do go for a brand in a day deal you are not given a Canva logo). A solid brand isn’t just about how it looks — it’s about strategy too how it feels, what it says, and who it speaks to. You don’t get to that level in a day. You get a feel for a brand wrapped up in a knock off Hermes bag.

2. One-day projects can end up costing more.
When everything’s crammed into one day, there’s no room to pause, reflect, or test things out in the real world. Clients often come back needing changes later and then, they are either paying more or starting from scratch.

3. Real connection takes time.
We work closely with small and solo business owners who care deeply about what they’re building. That kind of work takes a bit more breathing room. We want to understand your vision, your quirks, your customers, your particular circumstances, challenges and what actually makes you different — not just what looks good on a moodboard. Hell I can do that in my sleep, but this would be doing you and your brand a big disservice.

It’s not all bad — but it’s not for everyone.

To be clear, I’m not here to knock designers who offer this. More to clarify why I don’t do it.

Just keep in mind not all “Brand in a Day” offers are created equal. Prices vary wildly (we’ve seen $300 up to $3k+), and what you get differs a lot too.

Sometimes, for the same money — or less — you could get a more tailored brand identity done right here  tailored to what you need, over a couple of weeks that actually fits you better. Plus you wouldn’t be rushed through it like a drive-thru logo combo. You deserve better- it’s better for your health.
