Your Simple Guide to Unstuck Social Media.

Your Simple Guide to Unstuck Social Media

Hey there, fellow small business owner- yes another post on social media!

We’ve all been there, the social media blankety blank! Staring at a blank screen, the cursor blinking mockingly, and that dreaded thought creeping in: “I have absolutely NO idea what to post today.”

Content blocks happen to the best of us. That stops now.

The good news is that staying consistent on social media isn’t about constant bursts of inspiration. It’s about having a system for those inevitable “I’m-completely-out-of-ideas” moments.

An aside -I started creating something amazeballs to help with content creation early last year- it nearly drove me crazy (crazier!) and am now in the process of redesigning because I thought of a way to make it even better! (yes full on crazy- but I really think this will be of real value to small and solo business owners!) Sign up to newsletter to get preorder discount price news!

For now let’s ditch the blank stares and get posting!

5 Easy Ways to Find Your Next Social Media Post.

“Ask Me Anything”

Think about the questions your customers always ask. “What’s the best way to…?” “How do I…?” These are goldmines of content!

Example

If you’re a baker (sorry been baking a lot recently lol) , you might get asked, “How do I keep my cakes from drying out?”

Boom! Post idea: “3 Simple Tips for Keeping Your Cakes Moist and Delicious.”

Share Your Wins (and the Lessons Learned)

Did you recently help a client solve a tricky problem? Did you have a small victory in your business? Share it! Your audience loves to connect with the human side of your brand.

Example

If you’re a life coach, you could share a success story from a recent client session (with their permission, of course!). You could share how they overcame a specific challenge and achieved a personal goal. This not only showcases your expertise but also builds trust and inspires your audience.

Social Media recycle greatest hits

Repurpose Your Past Hits.

Remember that post that absolutely killed it? The one with all the likes and comments? Don’t let it gather dust!

  • Repurpose it! Write a new caption, add a fresh image, or even create a short video based on the original post.
  • Example: If your post about “Why Social Media is Stressing out Small Business Owners “was a hit, create a short video showcasing each tool in action. If it was a video- expand on the ideas and turn it into a LinkedIn article or blog post.

Give Your Old Social Media Posts a Refresh.

Dust off some of your older, valuable content. Maybe it needs a slight update or a new angle.

  • Example: Did you do a video a year ago about “3 Tips for Improving Your Email Marketing”? Update it with the latest trends and best practices, and share it again on social media.

Look around.

Sometimes, the best inspiration comes from unexpected places. Follow creators in other industries. What are they talking about? How can you apply their ideas to your own business?

  • Example: If a fitness influencer shares a post about “Overcoming Plateaus,” you could write a post about “Overcoming Creative Plateaus in Your Business.” (hmmmm that one could be coming soon lol).
social media fear of posting

Overcoming the Fear of Posting.

We also find a lot of people especially if their business is new will feel nervous to post.

You might worry-

  • What if no one likes it?
  • What if people judge me?
  • What if I make a mistake?

I’m not sure where this stems from- but this is where I want to remind you that IT’S NO BIG DEAL. Just post- the world won’t stop spinning (and if it does then it won’t matter right ;).

Perfection is overrated! Your audience wants to connect with the real you.

Focus on sharing your value.

What unique insights or expertise can you offer?

Start small and build confidence. Begin with short, simple posts or even quotes in the beginning and gradually increase the length and complexity.

Don’t let fear paralyse you. Even if you’re nervous, just hit “publish”!

Engage with your audience. Respond to comments and messages. This helps build relationships and shows that you’re listening.

Most importantly, remember that your voice matters. Don’t let fear hold you back from sharing your unique perspective with the world.

Consistency on Social Media Matters.

Consistency is key to building a strong online presence. When you stop posting regularly, it’s easy to fall off the radar. Learn what works with your audience analysing your own social media data.

Newsflash you don’t need to feel pressured to come up with groundbreaking content every single day. By having a simple system in place that works for you, you can keep your social media flowing smoothly and build a loyal following.

Now go and post! You’ve got this!
